A new project, a new band, like an urge to ward off the fate of a strange time and look far ahead.

Christophe LeLoil built OpenMindeD out of the strong collaborations that punctuate a rich artistic life, with a musical direction that ignores boxes: the music of OMD mixes sounds and influences, composers and meters, harmonic gestures and tempos.

Built around Andrew Sudhibhasilp’s unique guitar playing, the repertoire benefits from Cédrick Bec’s masterful drumming and bassist Pierre Fenichel’s deep inspiration.

LeLoil’s virtuoso trumpet, whose soft, velvety tone has travelled the European jazz scene for decades, finds here an inhabited dialogue with the ethereal voice of singer Julia Minkin. Everything in the lyrics she writes and sings calls up Chicago, her hometown.

Like a powerful, inspired collective, everyone here is a composer, arranger and sound organizer, pushing the music in distinct directions and feeding the variety of melodies and moods, for a magnetic experience.
